21Shares launches the first Zcash ETP and EtherFi ETP in Europe
On September 23rd, according to Cointelegraph, 21Shares, a European cryptocurrency asset management company, announced the listing of two new exchange traded products (ETPs) on Tuesday. This marks the first regulated investment product in the European market to be linked to Zcash (ZEC), aimed at further expanding the influence of this privacy coin in the regulated market. These two new products are 21Shares Zcash ETP and 21Shares EtherFi ETP, the latter of which is linked to the governance token ETHFI of the decentralized financial protocol Ether.fi. Both products adopt a physically backed mechanism and have been listed for trading on the Paris and Amsterdam markets of Euronext. This means that investors can indirectly hold these two types of encrypted assets through traditional securities broker accounts, without the need to directly store private keys. It is worth noting that the annual management fee for both ETPs is set at 2.5%, which is higher than the fee level of many Bitcoin and Ethereum funds in Europe. This release, following the launch of the Zcash ETF by Grayscale in the United States, reflects the continued growth in institutional demand for the allocation of privacy coins and top DeFi assets.
