Surging US Crude, Liquid Fuel, Energy Surpluses
Lower prices may be a primary force capable of curtailing the growing surplus of US and Canadian crude oil and liquid fuels from approaching 9 million barrels a day in 2027. What appears to be an unstoppable trend of rising surpluses is juxtaposed with WTI crude oil at around $95 a barrel on Sept. 21, near the upper end of its pattern of lower highs and lows since 2008.
