[UBS: Optimistic About Asian Emerging Market Bonds, Gold Still Holds Diversification Value]
BlockBeats News, September 22, UBS is shifting its asset allocation focus toward Asian emerging market bonds. Adrian Zuercher, Co-Head of Global Asset Allocation in the UBS Chief Investment Office and Co-Head of Global Wealth Management for Asia Pacific, stated on a CNBC program that with global yields remaining elevated, there are increasing allocation opportunities in credit and fixed income markets. Zuercher noted that a robust macroeconomic environment is supporting the performance of emerging market bonds, with bonds in the Asian technology sector, particularly high-yield bonds, outperforming the broader market in recent months. He believes that compared to 10 to 15 years ago, the overall quality of high-yield bonds is now higher, and Asian emerging market bonds can offer both attractive yields and support from a relatively stable macroeconomic environment.
In terms of commodities, UBS remains optimistic about the diversification value of gold. Zuercher stated that the current environment is favorable for gold, with the structural weakness of the U.S. dollar providing support for gold prices. Additionally, UBS believes that broader commodity exposure can also help diversify risk. The situation in the Middle East has driven up oil prices, while the AI boom has increased demand for commodities such as copper.
