I have been watching GT recently and suddenly remembered the 1U subscription and 1:1 bonus point card that was just released, which can be used for both food and cash. At first, I thought it was just a platform coin, but now it doesn't seem as simple as a "platform coin" anymore.
Let's first look at the technical aspect:
GT has been consistently bottoming out in the range of $6- $7.5 in the early stages of this year, with a noticeable surge in volume at the end of August. Jumping up from around 8.4 around September 5th, converging for almost two weeks between 9.0-9.4, with the low point gradually rising from one quarter to another; On the 18th and 19th, the volume broke through, and on the 21st, it reached 11.3-11.4 during trading. This approach is very typical: first smash open the top of the summer box, then let the bears cover up and wait for the market to enter. The short-term buzz is 11, and the anchor point for a true bullish turn in the mid line is 10. $10 is the key to the success or failure of this market trend. Only by standing can we use 11-12 as the attacking range; Unable to stand still, treat it as a fake breakthrough for now.
Looking at the fundamentals again, @ Gate's direction in the past two years has become increasingly clear: the exchange is just an entrance, continuing to expand into TradFi, Web3, payments, AI, and on chain ecosystems.
At present, Gate's global registered users have exceeded 60 million, and GT itself is still a native asset and Gas Token of Gate Chain. More importantly, GT has been conducting quarterly destruction, with over 2.57 million pieces destroyed in Q2 of 2026, bringing the total number of destroyed pieces to nearly 190 million.
If only platform coins follow the market's rise, the sustainability is actually limited; But if Gate's multi asset, TradFi, AI, and on chain businesses continue to expand, while GT's usage demand and deflation mechanism increase synchronously, this logic will be more complete.
Recently, GT's popularity has noticeably returned, with increased market discussion and trading activity. So personally, I don't see GT as a short-term hot spot currency, but rather as an exchange ecosystem asset worth continuously tracking.
If the three things of technical confirmation, ecological growth, and continuous destruction can form a positive cycle, the story behind GT will become more and more interesting.
Of course, platform coins themselves will also be affected by the overall market, liquidity, and Gate's own business development, so it is still necessary to do a good job in position and risk management.
