With BTC surging like this, my biggest position right now is called: regret As it keeps climbing, the group chat is already buzzing about where the next stop might be. Meanwhile, I’m staring at the candlestick chart, and all I can think is: Great, my analysis was spot on, but I didn’t make a dime. This is probably the most awkward moment for seasoned traders. When the price drops, we study support levels every day, terrified that the final dip will bury us; but when it actually starts rising, we think, “Let’s wait for a pullback before jumping in.” And BTC, being super polite, says: No pullback, and oh, by the way, the taillights are almost out of sight. Now you want me to chase it? Honestly, I just can’t bring myself to do it. Missing out is already painful enough, but if I go heavy at the top just to cure my FOMO, and then the final needle comes down, it’s no longer just missing out—it’s completing the perfect cycle of “didn’t make money, then lost money.” So my current strategy is pretty simple: If I missed the big trend, I’ll just accept it. No fighting with the market, no forcing myself to chase just to prove I’m brave. I quietly do some short-term trades that I feel confident about every day, make a little lunch money; the rest of my funds go into some low-risk investments, earning a bit of yield, while I watch others post their profit screenshots. Others in one day: “+18%.” Me in one day: “Investment yield credited +58U.” Don’t ask. If you ask, it’s called being steady; if you ask too much, it’s called heartbreak. But after going through multiple bull and bear cycles, I’ve actually come to accept this state of mind. The biggest loss from missing out is just “not making money,” but the biggest risk of FOMO is actually losing money. If BTC keeps rising, I’ll accept that I sold too early and missed out; If it gives me a nice pullback later, at least I’ll still have ammo ready. The market won’t stop rising just because I didn’t get on board, and I don’t need to mess up my own rhythm just because the market is going up. The biggest lesson this time might not be catching BTC, but watching it rise and still resisting the urge to chase. After all, seasoned traders didn’t survive this long by catching every single move. They survived by—when missing out, keeping a tough face but steady hands.
