One of the workspaces reportedly contained 32,932 files, approximately 411 million plaintext characters. Chengming Technology has demanded that Zhipu clarify the storage location of the related data, whether cross-border transfers occurred, whether the data was provided to third parties, and whether it was used for model training. Additionally, they have requested the complete deletion of related data from servers, caches, backups, and disaster recovery systems, as well as the provision of access logs, export logs, and proof of deletion. Zhipu had previously apologized for the incident, attributing the issue to the early default-enabled 'repository indexing' feature, which has since been fixed.
