[Zhipu ZCode Responds to Full Repository Upload Issue: Repo Wiki Default Setting Causes Trouble, Promises Open-Source Client] Beating AI News Flash: Zhipu has responded to the controversy surrounding ZCode repository data uploads, stating that the issue originated from the 'Repo Wiki' feature in the code repository index. When Repo Wiki generates Wiki pages, it may upload repository data to the cloud; however, the related data is immediately destroyed after the page is generated and is not retained. The company explained that this feature was initially enabled by default, which affected some users. The issue has now been resolved. The current official documentation for ZCode explicitly states that Repo Wiki does not read .git, dependency directories, build artifacts, or caches. It only sends filtered code content as needed. Previously, the community reverse-engineered and discovered that ZCode would take snapshots of projects in the background, potentially packaging and uploading .git, Git history, and LFS caches. ZCode also announced plans to open-source its code soon and invited third-party evaluators to review the system's operations, with progress on the review to be disclosed later. As compensation, all users will receive an additional weekly quota reset, which will be distributed today.
