[Sources: Anthropic and OpenAI Seeking Smaller-Scale AI Data Center Collaboration Projects] According to Jinshi reports, sources reveal that as competition for infrastructure needed to deploy workloads intensifies, Anthropic and OpenAI are actively seeking collaboration projects for smaller-scale AI data centers. Over the past year, both AI labs have signed massive agreements involving AI data centers with capacities ranging from hundreds of megawatts to gigawatt levels. However, informed sources indicate that the two companies are now also pursuing agreements for much smaller deployments, in the range of 20 to 30 megawatts. Four informed sources disclosed that Anthropic has engaged in discussions regarding agreements within this capacity range in the UK and Nordic regions. Two of these sources stated that OpenAI has also been exploring opportunities for such small-scale deployments in the Nordic region.
