[Perplexity Computer Adds Four Levels of Effort Adjustment] According to the Perplexity blog, its Computer product has introduced an 'effort' adjustment feature, allowing users to select between four levels—Light, Standard, High, and Ultra—via a slider. This setting determines the model responsible for task orchestration and its reasoning depth, with the orchestration model then delegating tasks to auxiliary agents that may come from different providers. In the official examples, Light is suitable for everyday tasks like summarizing supplier invoices, while Ultra is designed for open-ended problems such as evaluating new markets. Credit point consumption depends on the actual workload executed, with lower levels consuming fewer points. This feature is now available on the web version, with Android and iOS versions to be launched later. The option for custom model selection remains available.
