OpenAI Launches Astra for Law - Legal Edition of GPT-6 Product

OpenAI has released Astra for Law, designed for law firms and legal tech companies. Based on GPT-6, Astra provides legal analysis writing instructions, workflows, and context configurations. It comes with a built-in search index covering over 230 million linked U.S. case laws, statutes, regulations, and administrative decisions, supporting retrieval of authoritative original sources. Multiple law firms (including Sullivan & Cromwell, Ropes & Gray, and Cooley) have already developed tools for contract review, M&A due diligence, and IPO preparation using this product.
