[Securitize: SEC's 'Innovation Exemption' Gives Green Light to Tokenized Securities Trading in the U.S.]
Securitize posted that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has issued an 'Innovation Exemption,' providing a regulatory exemption framework for pilot programs involving tokenized securities and new market structures in the U.S. Securitize stated that the framework is designed to facilitate the trading of assets such as tokenized National Market System stocks (NMS Stock) within the existing federal securities law framework and to encourage 'responsible experimentation' with new market structures. Securitize noted that its current operations do not rely on the exemption to issue and operate tokenized securities. Moving forward, it will evaluate specific opportunities under the new framework and continue collaborating with the SEC and market participants to advance compliant on-chain securities markets.
