[Chainalysis Report: Open-Source AI Models Drive a 440% Surge in Cases of Malware Instructions Embedded in On-Chain Transactions and Smart Contracts] According to Bloomberg, blockchain analytics firm Chainalysis reports that since the launch of unrestricted Chinese open-source AI models in mid-last year, cases of embedding malware instructions into on-chain transactions and smart contracts have surged by approximately 440% in less than a year, rising from an average of about 2 cases per day to the current average of about 11 cases per day. Attackers use a 'blockchain dead drop' to leave control instructions for malware on-chain, directing it to steal information, passwords, or funds and transfer them to designated addresses. Due to the difficulty of deleting blockchain records, these attacks are harder to disrupt. The report states that hacker groups supported by countries such as North Korea and Iran have become the main actors in such activities.
