The U.S. has ~$7.25 trillion of T-bills outstanding, equal to 18% of total federal debt.
If T-bill yields remain 25 bps higher as that debt rolls over, annualized interest expense on T-Bills alone would rise from ~$275 billion to ~$293 billion.
That’s $18 billion more per year in interest. 🖨️💵
