A crypto practitioner in Singapore was robbed at home; the mastermind sentenced to 12 years and 11 months in prison, plus 24 strokes of the cane. According to *Lianhe Zaobao*, in April 2024, seven Malaysian men broke into a private residence in Bukit Timah, Singapore, where a high-stakes gambling session was taking place. Armed, they restrained those present and forced the victim to transfer cryptocurrency, making off with approximately SGD 4.906 million in total, including cash and valuables. The masterminds, Wu Wentong and Huang Zhishan, were recently sentenced to 12 years and 11 months in prison, 24 strokes of the cane, and fined SGD 4,000 each. Police have so far recovered around SGD 1.69 million in virtual assets, but some of the stolen funds remain unaccounted for.
