Did a review of the trades I made over the past six months today. Weirdly enough, almost every time I traded altcoins, I ended up losing money. The position I was holding got liquidated today too. The daily chart showed consolidation, held onto it for 4 days, but in the end, I still got cut for a few thousand $USDT. Even small amounts of money hurt. What's even crazier is that $ETH broke out a few days ago, but this one didn’t budge at all. Not every consolidation in altcoins is an opportunity. There are way too many altcoins now, and I don’t have enough attention or funds to spread around. Coins that no one talks about, no big influencers or top-tier accounts pay attention to, and no consistent inflow of funds—daily chart consolidation breakouts might just be self-indulgence or even liquidity traps. Only altcoins that become the market’s focus make certain levels of consolidation breakouts meaningful. If my trade had truly broken out, based on the structure, it could’ve at least doubled, but instead, I lost 80%. So, when trading altcoins now, first look at the hype, then look at the funds, and only then look at the chart. Hype + funds + pattern = premium. Otherwise, $ETH’s breakout belongs to $ETH, and your altcoin is still just your altcoin.
