[Amazon Reports Data Recovery Issues in Some AWS Facilities in Bahrain and UAE]
Golden Finance reported on September 16 that Amazon (AMZN.O) Web Services (AWS) stated that due to damage sustained during the U.S.-Iran conflict, some data centers located in the Persian Gulf region remain inaccessible. In its latest status update, AWS noted that data stored exclusively in the Bahrain data center and certain network areas in the UAE are currently inaccessible. Previously, two AWS data centers in Bahrain were damaged during the early stages of the conflict, with the extent of the damage exceeding the design tolerance of their services. AWS stated that most customers have resumed operations through backups or migration to data centers in other countries, but one availability zone in the UAE remains inaccessible. Engineering teams are working to restore resources in two other availability zones. The company expects to provide further updates on the recovery of Bahrain facilities early next year.
