According to CoinShares' latest Bitcoin mining report, the weighted average pre-tax cash mining cost for publicly listed mining companies in Q2 2026 was approximately $75,500 per BTC, higher than the end-of-quarter BTC price of around $58,400. The industry as a whole has fallen below the cash break-even point. In June, the hash price dropped to a historic low of $27.7 per PH/s/day. When factoring in depreciation, amortization, and equity incentives, the total costs vary significantly among companies, with ABTC at approximately $76,529 and CIFR as high as $353,168. The report states that several mining companies have already shut down part of their computing power or shifted focus to AI and high-performance computing businesses.
