[Agility Unveils Humanoid Robot Digit 5 for Collaborative Work with Humans]
According to Bloomberg, Agility Robotics launched its next-generation humanoid robot Digit 5 on September 15, capable of working closely with humans without physical safety barriers. Previously, Digit 4 required operation within fenced areas. Digit 5 utilizes AI algorithms and newly added sensors to identify nearby individuals, stopping its actions or sitting down when necessary to avoid collisions.
In terms of hardware, its single handling capacity has increased from approximately 16 kilograms to about 23 kilograms, with a battery life of 90 minutes and a charging time of 9 minutes. The company has already deployed the robot at nine customer sites, including Schaeffler, GXO Logistics, and Toyota Canada Manufacturing, accumulating over 65,000 hours of operation. Multi-year orders for Digit amount to approximately $300 million.
