[ByteDance ADrive Set to Launch Independently: Sharing a Unified File System for Codex, Doubao, and Other Agents]
Beating AI News Flash: Volcano Engine's intelligent cloud storage platform, ADrive, is scheduled to launch independently in September. ADrive is currently open for trial use, with official documentation, product terms, and CLI already available online. ByteDance's technical team has previously introduced this product multiple times. ADrive provides a unified file space for both humans and Agents. Reports, code, images, and other files generated by Agents can be directly stored in the cloud, enabling seamless continuation of tasks or allowing another Agent to take over processing. Volcano Engine has previously demonstrated Codex, Doubao, and DeepSeek Harness collaborating around the same ADrive space in relay workflows. The official CLI also supports Agents in uploading, downloading, and syncing files, as well as invoking the cloud storage via MCP.
Tencent has also announced a similar product. Tencent Cloud Storage currently displays "Coming Soon" and has not yet been publicly released, but its official website has confirmed support for Agents to access files via CLI and MCP, as well as data sharing with Tencent Docs, WorkBuddy, and other applications.
