[Oil Prices Surge, Hormuz Strait Daily Traffic Drops to Single Digits] BlockBeats News, September 14: Both WTI and Brent crude oil prices rose over 3% today, currently trading at $99.189 per barrel and $104.36 per barrel, respectively. According to Reuters, the daily vessel traffic through the Hormuz Strait over the past weekend dropped to single digits, below the 10-day average of 14 vessels per day. Based on vessel tracking data from September 14, four ships exited the Hormuz Strait over the weekend, including energy carriers, while 10 cargo ships entered the strait. However, these figures do not include vessels that turned off their automatic identification systems while passing through the Hormuz Strait. Previously, U.S. President Trump stated that Ukraine had agreed not to target Russian energy facilities, and Russia had agreed to take similar measures. If these arrangements are implemented, attacks on energy infrastructure by both sides in the Russia-Ukraine conflict may ease. Trump also noted that the recent global diesel price surge is primarily caused by the Russia-Ukraine war, rather than the situation in Iran.
