PANews|Sep 14, 2026 14:25
Bitcoin payment service provider Swiss Bitcoin Pay stated that a malicious user has likely gained access to its internal systems. As a precautionary measure, Swiss Bitcoin Pay has temporarily shut down its servers to investigate and protect its infrastructure. The potentially accessed information includes customer email addresses, Bitcoin addresses, IBANs, transaction history, and hashed passwords. It is unclear whether any other information has been accessed. User funds remain secure, and all payable amounts to users will be fully refunded. There is currently no set date for reopening, and the team is working to complete security enhancements as quickly as possible.
