**[Opinion: The Next Decade of the Crypto Industry May Resemble Revolut More Than MetaMask]** BlockBeats News, September 14 – According to an article published by UK tech media *The Fintech Times*, as demand for stablecoins grows and regulatory frameworks mature, the true bottleneck of the crypto industry may have shifted from underlying infrastructure to user experience. Declan Hannon, CEO of Aurora Labs and former Global Partnerships Lead at Revolut, wrote that current crypto applications still require users to understand complex concepts such as networks, gas fees, cross-chain bridges, wrapped assets, and confirmation times. In contrast, traditional fintech has long hidden these infrastructures in the background. The supply of fiat-backed stablecoins surpassed $273 billion by March 2026, and adjusted stablecoin transfer volumes grew 91% to $10.9 trillion in 2025, reflecting the market's continued demand for low-cost, fast dollar payments. Meanwhile, the EU's MiCA has been fully implemented, and the U.S.'s GENIUS Act has entered the rule-making phase, signaling a progressively maturing regulatory environment. Hannon believes that future crypto applications should leverage architectures like "Intents" to delegate complex processes such as routing, liquidity sourcing, cross-chain execution, and settlement to backend networks, allowing users to simply express their ultimate goals. For example, users could send USDT or USDC to a fixed address, and the system would automatically handle cross-chain operations and fund routing without requiring users to manually select networks. To achieve mass adoption, the key for the crypto industry is not to continue adding more base-layer chains or merely increasing throughput but to ensure that users do not need to understand blockchain's underlying mechanisms. "The best crypto applications may be those where mainstream users are completely unaware they are using crypto technology." [Original Article Link]
