[Nikko Securities: Bank of Japan Expected to Raise Interest Rates to 1.75% by June 2027] Jin10 Data, September 14 – Nikko Securities stated in a report that the Bank of Japan may raise its policy rate from 1.00% to 1.25% this Friday and further increase rates to 1.75% by June 2027 through additional hikes. The brokerage firm noted that the Bank of Japan might accelerate the pace of policy tightening to address the risks of rising inflation. The firm also highlighted that the complex Middle East conflict has heightened risks of rising crude oil prices, global interest rate hikes, and further weakening of the yen. Nikko Securities stated that if crude oil prices continue to rise and other central banks raise interest rates, increasing the risk of yen depreciation, the Bank of Japan may further push rates to 2.25%.
