So much has been happening lately, it's been a while since I posted anything.
Had some free time these past two days, so I went back to using AI to create an RPG GAME. It's only been four months since the last time, and I can't believe how much the models have improved. Just like before, it took less than half a day to make the game in the video, and the quality has reached a level that honestly surprised me. For someone like me with zero art background, this feels like a real accomplishment.
Compared to all the blocky games made with Three.js that you see everywhere now, I've always preferred the HD-2D aesthetic, like Octopath Traveler.
Previously, I used agent-sprite-forge to create assets, and the sprite sheet animations for characters sometimes felt a bit choppy. This time, I switched to generating assets with GPT Image 2.5 and used Grok Build's img2video to create animations. The smoothness is way better than what I made before. For the map, I used Three.js to build the terrain and lighting, then added the animated elements.
The smoothness is much better than my previous attempts—character idle, walking, attacking, even the monsters, leaves, firelight, and water surfaces all feel like they're truly moving. When standing still, there's still a sense of "living in the scene."
The entire game was developed by AI. I only provided ideas, tested it, and gave feedback—no hand-written code, no manual image editing, no tweaking animations, and I didn't use any pre-built game engines like Unity or Godot. Even the game's entire soundtrack was created by AI using Google Lyria (and I think the music turned out amazing).
I’ve also organized the production process into a Skill. With the current method, adding a new scene with a story only takes about half an hour.
This time's subscription usage:
1. GPT Pro 200U weekly quota: 40%
2. Grok Build 100U weekly quota: 50%
Game link is in the comments—feel free to check it out! AI can already achieve this level of visual quality. If I have time later, I might consider completing the full game!
