Beating AI News Flash: ElevenLabs has launched Music v2.5 and set it as the default model for ElevenMusic. The new version focuses on improving melody, arrangement complexity, and instrument realism. The official team conducted 47,885 blind tests by generating versions with the same prompts using both v2 and v2.5, and v2.5 won in most comparisons. The differences were most pronounced in genres like R&B, soul, hip-hop, rock, metal, orchestral, and film scores. Additionally, licensing has been relaxed. Free users can download up to 5 lossless songs per day, and the generated content can be used commercially, but it must be credited as "Made with ElevenMusic." Pro users get 400 lossless downloads per month, do not need to provide attribution, and can release songs on streaming platforms. Permissions granted at the time of creation will not change due to downgrades or cancellations. However, works based on adaptations of other artists' songs cannot be downloaded or distributed externally. ElevenLabs also clarified that Music v2 will not be retired. Meanwhile, Suno recently launched v6 and retired all previous models, causing dissatisfaction among many longtime users. Some users on Hacker News tested the models and concluded that while v2.5 has better audio quality, they still prefer the musicality of Suno v5. [Original Link]
