Wu Blockchain has learned that the Thailand SEC is seeking public feedback on new stablecoin regulatory rules. The proposal requires that when depositing or withdrawing stablecoins through regulated digital asset operators, both the source account or wallet and the target account or wallet must belong to the same customer. Deposits from third-party wallets and withdrawals to third-party wallets will not be allowed. The daily inflow and outflow of stablecoins per person, per operator, must not exceed approximately $151,000. However, transfers between two regulated Thai operators that both implement the Travel Rule will not be subject to this limit. The Thailand SEC stated that the new rules aim to reduce the risks of stablecoins being used for money laundering, cybercrime, and evading cross-border capital transfer regulations.
