According to a BBC report, BitMEX co-founder Ben Delo donated £36 million to the UK Reform Party, setting a record for the largest single donation received by a UK political party. Delo stated that he originally planned to donate £1 million per month from now until the latest possible general election in 2029, but decided to make a one-time payment of the full amount to prevent potential future government restrictions on large political donations. Currently, the UK does not limit the amount domestic donors can contribute to political parties.
