The US Department of Defense plans to provide a $5 billion loan to AI infrastructure startup Fluidstack On September 11th, according to the Wall Street Journal, the US Department of Defense is negotiating a $5 billion (approximately 6.7 trillion Korean won) loan with AI cloud platform startup Fluidstack. The funding will come from the Department of Defense's Strategic Capital Office (OSC) and will primarily be used to strengthen the US domestic supply chain and manufacturing capabilities for key components in data centers. If the agreement is reached, this will become OSC's largest single loan to date. Fluidstack was founded in 2017 and its headquarters relocated to New York, USA in December of last year. Currently, all 700 employees are based in the United States and have signed multi-year leases for data centers in states such as New York, Indiana, Louisiana, and Texas.
