[Singapore Exchange Receives CFTC Authorization to Open Bitcoin and Ethereum Perpetual Futures to U.S. Institutions]
According to CoinDesk, the Singapore Exchange (SGX) has received authorization from the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) under Regulation 48.10 of the U.S. Commodity Exchange Act, allowing U.S. institutional investors to directly trade its Bitcoin and Ethereum perpetual futures. KC Lam, Head of Crypto Derivatives at SGX Group, stated that U.S. participants were previously unable to trade these contracts, and this opening will connect U.S. traditional financial trading institutions with Asian liquidity pools. SGX's Bitcoin and Ethereum perpetual futures were launched at the end of November 2025, with a cumulative trading volume reaching $5.8 billion, approximately 400,000 contracts.
