**[Bloomberg AI Model Predicts Bank of England May Raise Rates in February Next Year]**
According to a report by Jinse Finance, on September 10, Bloomberg's economic research team, using a machine learning model based on the European Central Bank's methodology, indicated that under the current assumptions for energy prices and interest rate expectations, the Bank of England (BOE) is highly likely to raise its benchmark interest rate from 3.75% to 4% during its first policy meeting in February next year. This prediction comes earlier than the majority of economists' forecasts of "no change in rates."
The model, trained on over 50 economic and market indicators since the Bank of England gained independence in 1997, has achieved a prediction accuracy of approximately 50% to 66% for actual rate hike or cut decisions over the past decade. The research highlights that if elevated oil and gas prices persist and drive inflation to around 4%, the upward risk to inflation expectations will compel the Bank of England to tighten monetary policy.
