$6 billion. That's how much the US Treasury is buying back in bonds this Thursday.
It's triple the size of their last long-dated operation, targeting 10 to 20 year bonds to prop up liquidity in a market that's been getting hammered. 30-year yields recently hit their highest level since 2007.
Here's the catch though: yields actually went up after the announcement. 10-year yields are sitting near 4.85%, the highest since November 2023.
They're buying. The market is selling anyway. Worth watching.(Lark Davis)
