[DeepSeek Extends V4 Pro by 4 Days: Adds Buffer Period to Automatic Flash Transition Plan]
Beating AI News Flash: DeepSeek has adjusted the decommissioning schedule for V4 Pro. Yesterday, the official announcement stated that once V4.1 Flash is officially launched, all V4 Pro requests would automatically transition to the new model. However, the latest notice indicates that V4 Pro will now go offline at 12:00 on September 14, at which point all requests will be uniformly switched to V4.1 Flash and billed according to Flash pricing.
The previous automatic replacement plan sparked considerable opposition from developers. Many developers were concerned that their carefully configured Prompts, Agents, and production workflows around V4 Pro might encounter issues due to the backend's direct model switch. Some suggested that DeepSeek retain the old model for a period of time, allowing users to decide when to migrate.
DeepSeek has not clarified whether this adjustment is related to the feedback received. However, compared to the original plan of "switching immediately upon launch," the new schedule at least provides existing V4 Pro users with a few extra days for migration and testing.
