[Open Standard Launches Open USD Stablecoin to Compete with Traditional Settlement and Treasury Yields]
According to The Block, the stablecoin project Open Standard has announced that its USD stablecoin, Open USD, will address the economic incentive misalignment in settlement, institutional trading, and corporate treasury management through a model of 'shared reserve yields + per-transaction developer fees, zero redemption fees.' Open Standard stated that it will distribute interest similar to treasury yields to institutions and developers using Open USD based on their contribution ratio, while only charging developers a small transaction fee and not imposing 'exit fees' when enterprises exchange fiat currency. The project team expressed its goal to enable Open USD to replace fiat currency in Visa and Mastercard settlements, exchange collateral, corporate cash management, and cross-border Fintech infrastructure.
