THE BLOCK: A California man was sentenced to 15 years in prison for his role in an August 2024 plot to kidnap the parents of a man who had participated in the theft of hundreds of millions of dollars in Bitcoin, according to the U.S. Department of Justice. Adam Iza, 26, helped coordinate and fund the attempted robbery using cellphone and encrypted messaging applications before six Florida men carried out a violent carjacking and kidnapping in Connecticut. Iza’s brother has also pleaded guilty, while six alleged participants have pleaded guilty and other co-conspirators are awaiting trial.(The Block)
