[Vitalik Introduces EIP-8288: Recursive STARK Memory Pools Expected to Reduce Costs for Quantum-Secure Signatures and Private Transactions] Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin published an article introducing the EIP-8288 proposal. This proposal plans to introduce a recursive STARK memory pool mechanism in the I-star upgrade following Hegota. The goal is to move signature verification and proof generation off Ethereum's main execution path, leveraging recursive aggregation within the memory pool to significantly reduce on-chain overhead. This solution is expected to bring notable improvements across various scenarios: the costs of quantum-secure signatures and privacy protocols will be significantly reduced, with Gas consumption for private transactions estimated to compress from tens of millions to tens of thousands. New signature or proof schemes (such as Falcon and ML-DSA) can gain support without modifying the EVM. Additionally, it enables private account abstraction, enhancing user privacy protection capabilities.
