According to Cnbctv18, India's state-owned power finance company REC announced that it has completed the country's first tokenized corporate bond issuance under the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) regulatory sandbox framework. The issuance was valued at approximately ₹5 billion and received subscriptions totaling around ₹7.96 billion, nearly 8x oversubscribed. The bond carries a coupon rate of 7.30%, with a tenure of 1 year and 9 months, achieving same-day payment, allocation, and listing. It is now listed on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). This pilot introduced atomic Delivery versus Payment (DvP) settlement and permissioned distributed ledger recording.
