Pons founder denies token tax rate was modified after launch, says issue stems from transaction terminal routing error
Pons founder Ozzy addressed the controversy in a post, clearly stating that Pons does not support modifying token tax rates after launch, and claims circulating in the market are incorrect.
He explained that some transaction terminals mistakenly route orders to high-tax liquidity pools, while the Uniswap V4 pool initialized by Pons actually has a 0% tax rate and a 1% Hook fee, which is transparently disclosed in all transactions. When malicious actors attempt to "drain" the pool, certain terminals display abnormal tax rate spikes, with figures fluctuating due to routing configuration errors. He has already requested the relevant terminals to make corrections.
He emphasized that if users see a tax rate higher than 1% (and the deployer has not set a higher rate), it indicates a routing error, not a modification of the tax rate after launch.
