[Pons Founder: Tax Rate Cannot Be Adjusted After Token Launch, Abnormal Display Due to Terminal Routing Issues] BlockBeats News, September 9 — Pons founder and lead developer Ozzy responded to recent controversies regarding the "adjustable tax rate after token launch" within the platform, stating that he does not support modifying the tax rate after a token goes live. Current claims in the market that "Pons can adjust the tax rate after launch" are incorrect. Pons pointed out that some terminals mistakenly route buy and sell orders to high-tax liquidity pools during transactions. Despite the fact that the Uniswap V4 pool initialized by Pons not only provides liquidity but also operates with a 0% tax rate and a 1% Hook fee, this fee is transparently disclosed in all transactions. Ozzy further explained that when malicious actors attempt to "vamp" (drain or attack liquidity) related liquidity pools, certain trading terminals may display higher transaction tax rates as a result. Due to discrepancies in router configurations across different terminals and the varying liquidity pools selected by terminals, users may observe fluctuations in tax rates. Pons clarified that this does not mean Pons has modified the tax rate post-launch; rather, it is caused by certain terminals routing transactions incorrectly to other high-tax pools, leading users to incur higher fees. Ozzy stated that he has requested the relevant trading terminals to address this issue, as incorrect displays and routing errors not only increase user transaction costs but also risk causing unnecessary market panic. Pons emphasized that the current fee for its Hook pool is 1%; if users see a tax rate higher than 1%, unless the token deployer set a higher tax rate at launch, it most likely indicates that the transaction was routed to an incorrect liquidity pool. Therefore, encountering a tax rate above 1% in transactions does not prove that Pons modified the tax rate after launch. [Original Link]
