Google DeepMind Launches AlphaGenome Atlas Database

According to Deep Tide TechFlow, on September 9, Google DeepMind launched AlphaGenome Atlas, a searchable database powered by artificial intelligence designed to map the predicted impacts of approximately 9 billion single-base DNA variants. The database is over 30 times larger than the AlphaFold database, with a data volume of about 1 PB, aiming to help researchers directly link genetic variants to the molecular mechanisms they may disrupt. AlphaGenome Atlas includes the AlphaGenome Variant Impact (AVI) scores, which combine features from AlphaGenome, AlphaMissense, and others to rank mutations by their impact and reveal their potential damaging mechanisms, such as interfering with gene regulatory switches or RNA splicing instructions. This resource will be made available to the global research community through the Atlas website, the AlphaGenome API, Google Antigravity capabilities, and subsequently via Google Cloud.
