[Google DeepMind Launches AI Genome Database AlphaGenome Atlas]
According to a post by Google DeepMind on the X platform, it has officially launched the AI-driven searchable database AlphaGenome Atlas, designed to predict the potential impact of all 9 billion single-base DNA variants in the human genome. The database, with a scale of 1PB, is more than 30 times the size of the AlphaFold database. It integrates the 'AlphaGenome Variant Impact' (AVI) scoring system, which ranks genetic mutations by severity from low to high and reveals their pathogenic mechanisms, such as disrupting gene switches or RNA splicing instructions. This helps researchers directly link genetic variants to specific molecular mechanisms.
