[OpenAI CFO: Enterprise Revenue Grows 32% in a Month, Luna Usage Increases Nearly 10x After 80% Price Cut]
Odaily Planet Daily News – OpenAI CFO Sarah Friar stated that the company is accelerating the expansion of AI into specialized fields such as chip design, life sciences, and financial services, and is experimenting with pricing based on business outcomes rather than usage volume. OpenAI's enterprise business revenue grew 32% from June to July this year, while the company's overall annualized revenue increased by approximately 20% during the same period. As of mid-year, revenue from enterprise and consumer businesses was roughly evenly split.
Additionally, OpenAI recently reduced the price of its low-cost Luna model by 80%, leading to a nearly tenfold increase in usage. Friar noted that in cloud deployment scenarios, Luna's costs are even lower than Z.ai's GLM 5.3. OpenAI's programming tool Codex now has 25 million users. The company is also leveraging its proprietary AI models to assist in the development of the Jalapeno chip, completing the chip design and tape-out process within nine months. (Reuters)
