🚨MARKET OPEN: U.S. stocks FELL , but the selling tells two different stories. Dow dropped about 1%, while the S&P 500 fell 0.2% and the Nasdaq slipped 0.3%. The pressure comes from bonds. The 10-year Treasury yield reached roughly 4.78%, with markets pricing about a 61% chance of a September Fed hike, according to the report. Yet investors are still BUYING selected chip stocks. Intel rose 5.1%, AMD gained 2.8%, Broadcom added 1.8%, helping cushion the broader decline. KEY LEVELS: • Dow: 52,800–52,900, after slipping below its four-hour trend average. • S&P 500: 7,650–7,670, with near-term support still holding. • Nasdaq: 26,000–26,100, around its 50-day average. This suggests investors are becoming more selective rather than abandoning stocks altogether. AI optimism is supporting parts of the market while higher yields pressure the major indexes. Thursday’s PPI report and Friday’s CPI report are the next tests. Strong earnings expectations can support stocks, but hotter inflation could make that support harder to sustain.(Coin Bureau)
