[Circle Adds Support for Prepaid CCTP Fees, Covering All EVM-Compatible Chains] BlockBeats News, September 8: According to official sources, Circle's Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP) now supports a prepaid fee feature for fast transfers. Previously, protocol fees were directly deducted from the USDC transfer amount on the destination chain. With this update, developers can quote and collect fees in advance using the native gas token of the source chain or USDC before executing the transfer, simplifying cross-chain transfer fee handling and ensuring users receive the expected amount of USDC. The prepaid fee mechanism is designed to improve fee predictability in cross-chain applications. Users no longer need to bear reductions in the actual received amount caused by additional deductions on the destination chain. Additionally, the CCTP Quote API can uniformly calculate fees across supported chains and consolidate Fast Transfer and Forwarding fees into a single quote, eliminating the need for developers to build separate systems to calculate multiple protocol fees. Furthermore, fees can be paid directly using the native token of the source chain without reducing or affecting the actual transferred USDC balance. Currently, the prepaid fee feature supports USDC transfers on all EVM-compatible chains covered by CCTP but does not yet support transfers initiated from Solana. However, transfers to Solana remain supported. Developers can use the Quote API to obtain specific fee quotes and integrate this feature. Relevant developers can refer to the official CCTP documentation to build more predictable cross-chain USDC transfer processes. [Original Link]
