[Analysis: SpaceX May See Over $10 Billion in Passive Net Buying, Nasdaq Weighting Expected to Increase] Odaily Planet Daily News – SpaceX's stock price has recently been trading within a narrow range, but a new wave of buying may soon arrive as the Nasdaq 100 Index undergoes its quarterly rebalancing later this month. Due to lock-up restrictions, SpaceX has a relatively low free float ratio, resulting in its current weighting in the Nasdaq 100 Index being only 1.25%, ranking 19th. This is despite its market capitalization exceeding $2 trillion, making it the sixth-largest component of the index. After the upcoming index rebalancing, SpaceX's weighting is expected to rise. The related adjustments will be announced after the market closes on Friday and will take effect on September 21. One contributing factor is that over 1 billion shares have already been unlocked, increasing SpaceX's free float ratio from less than 10% shortly after its IPO to nearly 30%. According to a report released Tuesday by JPMorgan Securities strategists, including Min Moon, SpaceX's weighting could reach 1.51% after the rebalancing, leading to approximately $12.4 billion in passive net buying of SpaceX stock by index funds and ETFs. Nasdaq data shows that as of the end of the second quarter, about $1.7 trillion in assets track the Nasdaq 100 Index, including the widely known Invesco QQQ Trust Series 1 ETF, which trades under the ticker QQQ.
