nike just got removed from the s&p 100, not the s&p 500, after 18 years on that index, its first removal ever. the stock is down about 78% from its november 2021 peak, roughly $220-230 billion in lost market value gone. closed at $38.40, a 12-year low. nike stays on the nyse and stays in the broader s&p 500. this is an index membership change, not a delisting, though funds tracking the s&p 100 specifically now have to sell. the real causes: a broken wholesale relationship from the dtc pivot, stalled innovation, and an 11% revenue drop in greater china alone. only way to save them is a memecoin nike rwa pair 😭 (this part's a joke, obviously)
