[Australian Regulator Removes 45 Crypto and Remittance Registrations Over the Past Year] According to Deep Tide TechFlow on September 8, as reported by Cointelegraph, Australia's financial intelligence regulator AUSTRAC stated that it has canceled, suspended, or refused to renew 45 cryptocurrency and remittance business registrations over the past year to strengthen oversight of high-risk payment operations. These actions primarily targeted service providers that were inactive, insolvent, lacked operational capacity, or posed risks related to anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing. AUSTRAC noted that businesses whose registrations were canceled are no longer permitted to operate, and some individuals involved have been referred to Australian and international law enforcement or regulatory agencies. The agency also mentioned that the virtual asset registration of GetCoins, under BA Digital Ventures, was canceled in June due to its alleged involvement in organized cryptocurrency investment scam activities.
