[Australia AUSTRAC Revokes 45 Crypto and Remittance Registrations Over the Past Year]
According to TechFlow News on September 8, as reported by Cointelegraph, Australia's financial intelligence regulator AUSTRAC announced that over the past year, it has canceled, suspended, or refused to renew the registrations of 45 cryptocurrency and remittance service providers. These include entities that were inactive, insolvent, lacked operational capability, or posed risks of money laundering or terrorism financing. AUSTRAC CEO Brendan Thomas stated that businesses whose registrations were revoked are prohibited from continuing operations, and some individuals involved have been referred to Australian and international law enforcement agencies. Among them, GetCoins (BA Digital Ventures) had its registration canceled in June this year due to alleged involvement in organized crypto investment scams.
