[Sources: Intel CPUs to Increase Prices by Another 10%] Odaily Planet Daily reports that supply chain insiders have revealed that due to soaring overall costs, Intel (INTC.O) has been gradually raising the prices of its PC CPUs over the past year, with plans to increase prices by another 10% in early October. Despite a projected slight decline in the PC end-market by 2027, Intel has chosen to raise CPU prices, clearly prioritizing boosting gross profit margins over the previous strategy of aggressive price cuts to capture market share. Supply chain analysis suggests that if Intel sets low gross profit margins as a critical threshold for product retention, certain products will inevitably be phased out. Once this demand is released, it could provide opportunities for Arm ecosystem players such as MediaTek and Qualcomm to step in. Particularly in the IPC, edge computing, and IoT markets, Arm SoCs offer advantages in high integration and low power consumption. (Taiwan Electronics Times)
