September 4th: bitcoin:native spot ETF total holdings rose to 1,269,012.56 BTC, with a net inflow of 1,721.95 BTC for the day. This marks the second consecutive trading day of net inflows, but compared to the significant increase of 8,206.67 BTC on September 3rd, today's inflow has noticeably slowed down.
In other words, funds are still flowing back in, but the buying momentum isn't as strong as the previous day. So far this week, the cumulative net inflow has reached 11,011.68 BTC, with a 7-day cumulative net inflow of 11,533.23 BTC. Since the beginning of September, holdings have increased by 8,411.72 BTC. This recent wave of inflows has essentially offset the fluctuations from early September, narrowing the year-to-date net outflow to 28,954.38 BTC—another step closer to recovery compared to a few days ago.
Recently, BTC has shown a pattern where, although there is still an overall inflow, it's primarily supported by top-tier products rather than widespread increases across the board. On the bright side, total holdings are now near the recent highs of this cycle. However, the key question moving forward is whether daily net inflows of several thousand BTC can be sustained. If inflows drop back to just one or two thousand—or even turn negative—then the strength of this recovery wave might weaken.
