Hot take: Quantum computers will be heavily regulated and you are not getting your hands on one anytime soon. Governments were too late to control AI hardware before GPUs were everywhere. They won’t make the same mistake twice. Cryptographically relevant quantum computers will be regulated more like uranium enrichment than consumer compute: tightly controlled hardware, tracked supply chains, licensed access, heavy monitoring.
